Adriana Pilemalm is a defense attorney with more than 30 years of experience in personal injury defense, civil litigation, construction defect, general liability, insurance coverage, and high-exposure claims. She represents individuals, businesses, and insurers facing significant civil liability, bringing a perspective shaped by careers on both sides of the claims process: as a trial lawyer managing complex litigation and as an insurance claims executive overseeing large portfolios of liability exposure.

As Managing Attorney of a civil litigation and personal injury practice, Ms. Pilemalm supervised a litigation department and represented parties in high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death matters. She later served as Vice President and General Liability Claims Director, where she managed substantial liability claims portfolios and worked directly with defense and coverage counsel, insureds, adjusters, and investigators. In that capacity, she evaluated liability and coverage positions, participated in high-exposure mediations, reviewed settlement agreements, and developed resolution strategies for claims with significant financial exposure.

Ms. Pilemalm’s litigation experience spans large residential development disputes, class actions, construction defect, mold and soils-movement claims, fraud, bodily injury, and complex insurance coverage disputes. Her dual background in courtroom advocacy and insurance operations allows her to assess cases from both a legal and business standpoint, identifying early the issues that drive settlement value, coverage exposure, and trial risk.

Ms. Pilemalm earned an LL.M. from California Western School of Law and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from FIG in São Paulo, Brazil. She is admitted to practice in California and Brazil and is a native Portuguese speaker fluent in Spanish.
